One engine choice – one design?
They were super popular in Norway. Produced from model year 1970 to 1975. Only one engine option was brought to the country – 1.2 liter. I can only remember the 2-door variant, but I see from Datsun and Nissan enthusiast websites that they were also produced with 4-doors, as well as 3- and 5-door station wagons – and a 2-door coupé. All were part of the Sunny family. As far as I know, the Sunny name was never used in Norway for this particular model. It was introduced in the 80s.

Durable
The Datsun 1200 was a good fighter that few people bothered to save. The cars helped give Japanese cars a good reputation for reliability. There are said to be more than 50 registered Datsun 1200s in Norway. Everyone knows that if you managed to keep these cars away from road salt, they could last forever.
Hope those who have a Datsun 1200 in their garage take good care of them.
