Ferrari California T – facelift
The Ferrari California is a 2+2 seater Gran Turismo with a mid-mounted engine at the front and a fold-down hardtop. The model was produced between 2009 and 2018. Along the way, two significant changes were made to the drivetrain, and one facelift. The newest series was produced during the model years 2015 to 2018. It received the designation California T because the engines then received a turbo – a new V8 of 3,9 liters, twin turbo, 560 HP. With a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the car could do 0-100 in a decent 3,6 seconds.
Cars with the facelift from the 2015 model year stand out with the following external changes:
New headlights, new grill and changed design and position of the rear tailpipes. Previously, they were "stacked" two by two in height, but from the facelift all four tailpipes are in line.
Model series before facelift
2009 was the first model year for the California model. It had a 4,3-litre V8 – the same engine type as in the more refined sports car Ferrari 430, but with fewer horses – 460 HP instead of 490. Only from 2012 did the California get an engine upgrade to 490 HP. An increase of 30 HP from before. At the same time, it also received a weight reduction of 30 kg. That is probably the reason why the 2012 model was given the model designation "California 30".
About the pictures
The pictures were taken in several places. The main photo of the California T was taken in connection with a car exhibition at Aker brygge 2016. The red one was photographed at Fornebu. The main photo for older models was taken outside AutoXO when they were based at Ramstad outside Oslo. More photos were taken at Norsk Sportsvogn Klubb's annual spring rally and Cars & Coffee at Øvrevoll gallop. Some photos are also taken of street parked cars in London. The Ferrari California is a very beautiful car.
