"Four doors" sounds much nicer in Italian: Quattroporte.
Model history
Maserati Quattroporte was first introduced at the Turin Motor Show in the fall of 1963. That a car has 4 doors is not particularly special. What was special about the Quattroporte was that it was a 4-door sports car – or a car with sporting characteristics. Slick, powerful, beautiful and a sound image that reveals its sporting origins.
The car in the pictures is Maserati's 6th series based on the same concept, adapted to today's design language. The model was produced from 2013 to the end of 2024. At the same time, Maserati also produced Ghibli III – a slightly smaller model that shared many chassis and drivetrain components, as well as design language. The two models look quite similar.

Engines
The powertrain is supplied by Ferrari, – 3,0 twin-turbo V6 with 330 hp, later increased to 350 hp. In Quattroporte WILL 410 hp was removed from the engine, later increased to 430 hp. The top variants Quattroporte GTS og Trofeo got the 3.8 twin supercharged V8. There was also a diesel variant in the engine range – a 3-litre turbodiesel V6 – which later became popular in the Maserati Levante.
All engine variants were equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF of the same type used by BMW, Land Rover and Porsche Panamera, among others. Quattroporte WILL could be had with Maserati's Q4 4-wheel drive. Other models have rear-wheel drive.
