When was the last time you saw a Citroën C6 as a taxi?
It is rare to come across a Citroën C6 along the road. This also applies in Citroën's home country, France. If you find someone driving a C6, you can count on it to be a liehaber, an experienced Citroën owner, who has probably owned a couple of other classic Citroëns in his previous car career. Maybe an XM, CX, or a DS?
I guess that mention can be applied to the taxi owner we saw in France. It is not often that I have seen the C6 as a taxi. When I think about it, it's a bit strange, because the car was designed to transport statesmen around with style and dignity, albeit in a version with an extended wheelbase.
Since production of the C6 ended far too early in 2012, there will hardly be any more C6 taxis to be seen on the road. I came across one in France. From what I can see, it is a 3,0 HDi resident in a tiny village in the South of France. There are no taxi centers here. The individual taxi owner operates with one or two cars, with his wife on the "switchboard", or telephone directly to the car, - and no cars have a card terminal. If you don't have cash, you can just write a cheque, right?
My wife took a film while we were lying behind the beautiful C6. The C6 is a car that should be observed at speed, preferably on bad roads, or in a roundabout, as here. And the next time you hail an Auris or Prius taxi in central Oslo, you can ask yourself the following questions:
Wouldn't it be better to be picked up by a C6?
