Cars and coffee, Øvrevoll gallop

At the weekend I visited two car gatherings - "Bilens dag på Romerike" and "Cars and coffee på Øvrevoll galopp", - or "Cars, bikes and coffee" as it is now called.

Bubbles and I-Pace

Closely parked cars in the bright evening sun and long shadows made it difficult to take good pictures. This time there were pictures of several independent bubbles. For the first time, I got to take a closer look at Jaguar's first electric car, the I-Pace. Two engines – one in the front and one in the back. First impressions were a bit mixed. I did not find anything extra in terms of "look and feel". A test drive would perhaps arouse more excitement. The I-Pace has 90 KWh batteries, front and rear motors, and 400 HP. The prices are not a deterrent - in fact quite on the same level as the new all-electric Audi e-tron. Audi scores better on look-and-feel, but is unlikely to be delivered with Windsor-red leather seats - for those who like that.

Lexus, X-Class and Touareg?

The last photo in the photo series is from Car Day at Romerike. The car is a Lexus LC500h. A fantastic design, - and daring colour. I didn't get any usable photos here either. During my short visit, I noted that the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class (pickup) and the Nissan Navara share a platform. Parked side by side, there was little to separate them. I tried to find Volkswagen's new Touareg but couldn't find it. Maybe it disappeared among other cars? To be honest, I think the new Touareg has become too anonymous.

Enjoy the pictures!
