Hobby vehicle in Hof

Ford tractor with flathead V8 …

I would have expected more tractors to have turned up. Hof in Vestfold is, after all, located in the countryside, where there may be one or two clenodiums on the barns. One of the projects that gathered the most spectators was this Ford tractor (8N) from just after the war. The interesting thing is the engine, which to me looked like a Ford flat-top V8 from the same era. A typical hot-rod engine. The owner started the engine several times and did a couple of laps on the gravel in front of a curious crowd. The engine sound was harsh and "musty", and the visual impression of the donning is absolutely royal, a combination of rat-look with a super nice finish on the wheels and front.

Rare sight: Opel Diplomat V8.

I can't imagine that very many Opel Diplomats were sold as new cars in Norway. Opel produced three models above the same bar, Kapitän, Admiral and Diplomat - almost impossible to distinguish with the naked eye. Diplomat was top-of-the-line and could be supplied with a V8. Beautiful and rare, - and probably cost an insane amount of money when new.

Volkswagen Bubble and Simca 9 Aronde.

Simca Aronde were popular in Norway, but rarely seen at matches. Simca's are popular all over Europe, including the folk model Aronde. This 1953 model belongs to the first series, called model 9. A car absolutely worthy of preservation. Funny to look at Norwegian signs.

Mustad Folkscooter

Was the Folkscooter 65 years ahead of its time?
There are many indications that this brilliant Folkscooter from 1954 was actually about 65 years ahead of its time. Today's electric scooters will probably soon be offered with a seat, gas pedal and "cover". Maybe someone will take up the production of Folkscooter again - this time with an electric motor? It may look like the practical side bags were included in the price, but I'm sure the plastic spout and the "suitcase" are optional extras.

The owner of this nifty moped drove several laps in the square. It went well!

1987 Honda Prelude 2.0i-16.

This is a nice car for us who are a bit "saved" by Honda. Last year in the series of Honda Prelude 2,0i-16, 150 HP. It looks very good, painted bumpers, spoiler and nice rims.

1973 Dodge Polara with original paint.

There are not many of them in Norway. I only know of one more. The Dodge Polara is an excellent hobby vehicle. Sound mechanics and solid construction. The great 360 engine (5,9 liter V8) has been in production for a number of years. This car had original paint and appeared to be untouched by the ravages of time.

1974 Saab 96 lightly customized

The Saab 96 is a design that originates from the 40s - actually from the same era as the Simca Aronde in the background. After the 96 series ended in 1976, the automotive press speculated for a long time about what the successor would be like. For a while it was thought that the successor would be the Lancia Delta - renamed the Saab 600. But the Saab 600 was not a success. Should Saab succeed in creating a worthy successor, they would have to rework the Lancia and make it more Nordic, as they did when they created the Saab 9000 on the basis of the Lancia Thema. I like the front of this lightly converted Saab. It emphasizes the aerodynamics of the bodywork.

Volvo 140/240 are typical hobby cars, often cars that have been kept in the family since new. The pictured 142 had only traveled 93000 km. The owner also exhibited a coat 164.
