McLaren 570S Spider - a great eye-catcher in front of the Hofhallen.
Hoftreffet - or Hobby Vehicle Day - is one of Norway's finest car meets. You can say that many short-distance cars come here - from Grenland in the south to the Drammen region in the north - and many of the cars have traveled locally in the district.
About the meeting
It's ACDC – American Cars Drivers Club Vestfold - who stands as the organizer, but the meeting is open to all types of vehicles within the Hobby vehicle concept. This of course includes mopeds and motorbikes from the brands Puch and Tempo and other fine brands, as well as tractors, trucks, toy cars, lawnmowers and more. There is a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere there - which the organizers contribute to. Many of the cars - and owners - and visitors - return year after year.
About the pictures
Of course, there were far too many cars for me to show them all. I have concentrated on taking pictures of single vehicles so as not to include too many people in the pictures. This time I have not hidden the car numbers, mainly because all the cars are special cars, which are published in other media and of which there are so few, - that anyone can track down the identification marks if they want. Send me a message at contact page if you want to change something.
Join us for a tour around the square! Click on the images to see them in a larger format.
Hebmüller
In my opinion, this was the biggest gem of the meeting – a Volkswagen Hebmüller who made convertibles out of people's cars with a split rear window! - After the oval rear window was launched, the cabriolets were supplied by Karmann.
Jaguar
Jaguar MK10 is very rare. There are only a handful of these in Norway. "The Fat Cat" shares a platform with Daimler of the time in order to be able to compete with the big English prestige brands.
Jaguar XK8 with a great V8 engine. Classic and veteran according to the new 20-year rule.
French cars
Renault 4 from model year 1968 up to and including 1974.
Peugeot 404 – a car for doctors and directors in the 60s.
Saab
A Saab 96 two-stroke from 1966 - the year before the V4. The undersigned knows these cars well. It was a car like that I did a practice drive in - my father's 1965 model - exactly the same with a registration number that started with Z91....
AMC Hornets
Guess many people have no idea what this is - the AMC Hornet - a very rare car that was first registered in Norway in 1973. The AMC Hornet was an American that was made for Norway in the 70s.
Fat stern sections
A car for sheikhs and other royalty. This can be rented for weddings.
Actually a Simca - but was taken in and sold through Ford's dealer network here at home. Vedette started its career as a Ford before the factory was taken over by French Simca. This is a 1959 Chambord.
Ford
Ford tractor with flattop V8. We have seen it here in full force before. But now it has been properly refurbished!
Ford D-700 1967 model with petrol engine, formerly owned by Myrens Verksted - now privately owned.
Ford Consul/Zephyr mk1
Ford with fast wine on the plane. This is a nice representative of Hobby Vehicle Day.
Mascot with a bottle of NOS High Performance Energy Drink. I thought it was about nitrogen!
