Bristol sounds good to Anglophile ears – not just because of the city of the same name, but the Bristol Airplane Company which also had an automotive division. After the Second World War, this was separated as its own company, Bristol Cars Ltd. The cars were handcrafted in small series for particularly interested enthusiasts until 2 when the company was put into administration. In 2011, the company was shut down.
