
Cars from the Soviet Union were little known in Norway before 1945. But that changed in 1945 when an entire Opel factory in Germany was taken as war booty and sent to Moscow. In 1947, Moskvitch began producing its variant of the 1930s Opel Kadett as the Moskvitch 400. Later, the Soviets developed their own models that were among the 10 best-selling car models in this country for several years.

Moskvitch 402 – a good friend from the East
In the 1950s and 1960s, this was a car brand that sold well in Norway. The reason for this was easy access to cars and few restrictions from the Norwegian authorities.
