Last Cayman/Boxster without turbo
The Porsche 981 was the last Boxster and Cayman to be delivered with non-turbo engines. The base engine 2,7 now produced 261 HP and the 3,4 in the S version 311 HP. From 2014 it increased to 325 HP. It was proper motorisation, which delivered the forces along a long, rising torque curve - not like in turbo engines, where the forces are delivered in relatively short rev intervals. Many swear by the former.
981 vs. 987
The 981 was produced between 2012 and 2016. I think it can be difficult to distinguish between facelifted 987 models (the predecessor) and the 981. The difference is the headlights, where the lights on the 981 are more on the same vertical line. Furthermore, the air intakes on the side of the 981 are more rounded than the more triangular ones on the 987. The rear lights also differ.

About the pictures
The brown Cayman in the main picture is pictured on the occasion of a Cars and Coffee event at Øvrevoll gallop outside Oslo. There are two photos of the Cayman S - both red. The picture taken from behind was also taken at the Øvrevoll gallop. The second was taken at one of Norsk Sportsvogn Klubb's spring rallies in Fornebu - a rainy day. The red Boxster S is photographed in the car park in front of the Fornebu Kultursenter/flytårnet. The yellow Cayman is pictured at a Porsche meeting in the idyllic town of Saint Cyprien, France. The gray Boxster was photographed while it was parked at Fornebu.
