The latest Aston Martin is number 12 in a series of legendary DB models.
The body is built around a bonded aluminium chassis for maximum rigidity and strength. The powertrain is a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 from Mercedes-Benz with 32 valves centrally located at the front with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF centrally located at the rear for approximately 50-50 weight distribution. It is worth mentioning that the cars are equipped with an E-Diff system with electronic "torque vectoring" that can distribute the torque between the rear wheels to create optimal grip around corners. On their website, Aston Martin describes their new DB12 as super tourer. "The world's first super tourer"The performance is promising. With 680 hp, 800 Nm, acceleration from 0-100 km/h is stated at 3,6 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h.
The first cars rolled out in 2023 as model year 2024. The DB12 comes in two basic variants – DB12 (with fixed roof) and Defensive Midfielder (convertible/roadster).
