Alfa Romeo

It's not very often that we get to drive an Alfa Romeo, but we did get to drive the Stelvio – a car for anyone who likes to drive. The articles under Alfa Romeo are also about classics, vintage cars and youngtimers - and lots of pictures.

Built as a tribute to the model of the same name from the company's historic racing era – and to form a link between combustion engines and new electric powertrains. But none of the customers chose electric powertrain.

The original model from 1967 was a street version of the Tipo 33 racing car. The cars were built as a low-volume series for homologation – not mass production. All were hand-built and extremely expensive. Only 18 cars were built.

Could be delivered with electric drivetrain

There were several things that attracted attention when it brand new The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was launched in August 2023. The fact that Alfa Romeo showed off a full-fledged sports car with track-going capabilities is, of course, news. An even bigger news was that you could choose between two different powertrains – a 3.0-liter mid-mounted twin-turbo V6 with 620 hp or a 100% electric drivetrain with 750 hp. A strong message that the time had come for electric cars, even in a super class like this.

And what a super class!

All the cars were to be hand-built Touring Superleggera body in a quantity of only 33 cars. The first car was delivered in December 2024, and as of now all the cars have been produced and delivered to their respective customers. Each customer could choose comprehensive individual solutions. They could even get personal VIN numbers!

A signal model

It is safe to say that the new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a signal model. Stellantis has a legacy to preserve in the form of Alfa Romeo's past as a car manufacturer and participation in the top echelons of racing. One could also add that the model also signals that Alfa will continue to deliver beautiful, sporty cars in the premium class even after 2035. In 2023, the EU's threat that all new cars after 2035 should be emission-free was still relevant.

No electric powertrain selected

The news that the cars could be had with an electric drivetrain sparked interest in the Norwegian media. Unfortunately, none of the cars ended up in Norway, and none were built with an electric drivetrain. Two buyers had ordered electric cars, but they changed their minds along the way.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale interior. Photo: Alfa Romeo

It would have been interesting if Alfa Romeo had had the opportunity to build at least one example with the electric powertrain. According to the specifications, it would have an 800-volt architecture, a battery pack of 102 kWh gross and 90 kWh net. 3 electric motors would provide power to all 4 wheels with a total output of 750 hp and acceleration in under 3 seconds from 0-100.

Do the cars end up with collectors?

An Italian supercar built in only 33 copies could be a good investment. There are no official list prices for any of the 33 cars that were built. But already now 3 of the cars are for sale for between 3 and 3.9 million euros. It is likely that several first-time buyers have secured a place on the customer list to speculate on an imminent price increase.

As investment vehicles, cars like this can be bought by collectors and put into long-term storage. Too bad for those of us who had hoped to study the cars on the road or in a showroom. The latter is now possible as one car has recently been placed on Alfa Romeo Museum in AreseThe museum is located in a former factory area that, among other things, produced Alfa Romeo's first V6 engines signed Giuseppe BussoThe "museum car" has previously been displayed at car shows in Europe and the United States, and a few lucky car journalists have been able to test drive it.

Test drive the car also has Valtteri Bottas done. The Finnish Formula 1 driver was tasked with testing the car's limits at Alfa Romeo's toy test track. Bottas is one of several celebrities who were on the customer list. There is no doubt that the car drives well, but it is doubtful whether anyone would dare to test the limits of such a valuable car.

Maserati genes

When I first saw the pictures of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, I immediately thought of another car model in the Stellantis group, the Maserati MC20. It looks similar to the Alfa – and it's true that the two cars share the same (or almost the same) carbon fiber chassis. Work on the development of the chassis is said to have begun at Alfa Romeo.

Both Alfa Romeo and Maserati are equipped with 3.0 V6 engines, but they are not identical. The engines in the Alfa Romeo are a further development of the 2.9 liter Quadrifolio engines found in the Giulia and Stelvio. Maserati has its own variant, called Nettuno with special pre-chambers in addition to the usual combustion chambers.

Winning the Lotto jackpot helps a little, but it's hardly enough to buy a Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Then you can buy one Maserati MC20Not a bad car either.

Italian cars at Autovia

Autovia invited owners of Italian cars to a spring parade at their premises in the car city of Rud outside Oslo. They claim to be the dealer that has been dealing with Alfa Romeo the longest, and it was therefore not unexpected that this particular car brand was in the majority in the parking lot outside.

Many say that Alfa Romeo is a car brand that you choose with your heart . We have previously driven the Alfa Romeo Stelvio . It is a car that you can also choose with your head – as a sensible premium car. The same applies to the new Giulia. Some older models can probably demand a lot from their owners in terms of patience, money and passion. But all cars from Alfa Romeo eventually become classics, and it was good to see that several young vintage cars had found their way to Autovia – not only the GTV and Spider , but also models like the Alfa 155 and 156.

The Alfa Romeo Brera shares its chassis, engines and front end with the Alfa Romeo 159. The model was launched in 2005. Three years earlier, the Brera was presented as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. Italdesign Giugiaro had then built a tough coupé with a V8 engine from Maserati. None of this was transferred to the production model, but the Brera is still a great coupé with family ties to both the Alfa 159 and the Spider.

Many car models were prone to rust in the 1970s. Classic models such as alfasud, Alfetta og GTV, are almost impossible to find either in Norway or anywhere else due to rust problems. It is therefore nice to see "survivors", like two red Alfa GTV, and a Fiat 128 for sale (phase 2) on display outside Autovia.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Stelvio
Alfa Romeo Stelvio

It was a novelty when it came as a 2017 model year. A crossover SUV built on the new Giulia. Not only did it look fantastic – Alfa Romeo had succeeded in embedding the good Alfa genes. The automotive press pounced on the cars and reported on superb driving characteristics. Then there was silence.

For everyone who likes to drive

It has been 6 years since the Stelvio went on sale. 6 years is a long time in the car industry, especially after the car market has been invaded by large electric SUVs that can drive the braid of the Stelvio. When I drove the Stelvio today, it was inevitable not to compare with today's electric cars. In my eyes, the Stelvio came out very well. Alfa Romeo still makes cars for us who like to drive - we who like to take the long way home just for the fun of it.

Diesel

I had the choice between the 2,0 T MultiAir 280 HP or the 2,2 JTD MultiJet 210 HP. I chose the latter - probably the same engine I would have chosen if I were to buy a Stelvio today - although diesel is not the first thing you associate with Alfa Romeo. The JTD engine in the Stelvio is also used in the Giulia, Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler, - and Fiat Ducati. When I cold-started the diesel engine, I felt momentarily transported back to the Stone Age. But on the road, the engine impressed greatly with strong bottom pull and quick response from all revs. Inside the car, the soundscape was fine and the accelerations were not inferior to any electric car. Imagine a short on-ramp to the freeway where you stop to let a train pass and then slip in between other traffic. Full acceleration takes place without jerks and noise. Some of the credit must go to the gearbox. It is taken from the top shelf. The ZF 8HP75 is the same box that is used in large BMWs, among other things.

The trip

Today's trip went to Oslo Fashion Outlet in Vestby. Not the world's longest walk, but around lunchtime on weekdays it is quite quiet there. I'm not a fashionista, but we visit the outlet twice a year to replenish my wardrobe from the good brands. My wife is with me and knows what I need, what fits and what suits me. The trip to Vestby is pleasant, and there are several detours you can take to make the trip longer - provided you drive a good car.

Instruments and DNA

The instrument panel is classic. Some might say old fashioned. Deep analogue clocks have accompanied Alfa Romeo for many years and it is difficult to see how they can create a digital instrument panel. The infotainment system is operated with the same type of wheel on the center console that I had on an Audi 10-12 years ago. Although the system works well (for me), I understand that the time is ripe for computer screens. One of the switches on the center console controls the driving mode between Dynamic, Normal and Advanced Efficiency - "DNA" for short (of course). I'm not normally excited about driving in active/dynamic mode, because it makes the drivetrain disproportionately fussy compared to the power increase. In the Stelvio, I was impressed by how responsive the diesel engine became. Clean powder barrel. I still preferred normal mode. In "my" car, the DNA did not affect the chassis. Dynamic/active undercarriage is optional.

Alfa Romeo Stelvo. A beautiful Italian in Stromboli Grey Metallic on 19 inch wheels.

Chosen with the heart…

Did you know that Alfa Romeo owners salute over the steering wheel when they meet other Alfa Romeo owners on the road? I only met one this day - and he said hello while I was admiring his car - without me saying hello back. I don't know if all Stelvio owners are brand loyal, but many probably choose Alfa Romeo more with their heart than with their head. Does this also apply to the Stelvio? For my own part, I wrote about the model when it was launched 6 years ago. The Stelvio is a beautiful Crossover that offers a lot of driving pleasure. It provides a fine combination of comfort and sportiness where the drivetrain, chassis and steering are optimized for driving pleasure - a lovely interaction between car and driver. So yes, - the Stelvio captures the heart of a car enthusiast.

… And with the head?

I have scoured international user forums to see if there are any serious weaknesses with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. It is not. I mentioned at the outset that I would probably choose diesel (JTD 2,2) over petrol (2.0 T). There are three reasons for that. Firstly, it uses far less fuel than the petrol version, secondly, it is more affordable than the petrol version and thirdly, I consider it more reliable than the petrol version. Then I think, among other things, that there have been previous errors with the MultiAir system that controls variable valve openings, but I can't find any hits on this when it comes to the new Giulia and Stelvio. Please note that the Fiat-Chrysler diesel engines should not be chosen if you are only going to drive for short trips and - if I am not mistaken - the change interval for the timing belt and water pump is only 60 km.

Loss of value

"Our" Stelvio is a 2019 model year registered in November 2018. According to the Norwegian Tax Administration, the list price for this car was 604,900 kroner the same month that "our" car was registered with a leasing company. With additional equipment, the purchase price probably ended up being just under 700,000 without winter wheels. Today, 16 cars of the same model year and engine choice are for sale on Finn.no – of which 13 have a price tag of 459,000 kroner – probably lease cars. The loss in value is at the same level as one of the Stelvio's competitors, the Audi Q5.

Place

The Stelvio belongs to the mid-range Crossover SUV. From the driver's position, I get the feeling that the seats and fixtures embrace me - a positive feeling of security and well-being. Internal space utilization is average for the class, especially in the back seat. The luggage compartment holds 525 liters with the rear seats folded up and 1600 liters with the seats folded down. Also average for the class.

Conclusion

A diesel engine is not something you associate with Alfa Romeo, but it does not dampen the car's sporty driving characteristics. Few car owners are as loyal and enthusiastic about their cars as Alfa Romeo owners. These are cars that many people choose with their hearts, although there is nothing to suggest that you cannot choose them with your head as well. A 3-year-old Stelvio can be a good and fun camper van for many years.

With good care it can become a future classic.

How we test the cars

Italian speed and driving pleasure from Alfa Romeo

alfa romeo 164
Alfa Romeo 164

Ever since the car appeared on the road, speed and handling were important attributes for car buyers. The Alfa Romeo car brand excelled in both these qualities, and became famous both among motor sports athletes and other speed-loving drivers.

Early years

Since we mentioned speed and handling, we have to go back to the beginning of Alfa Romeo. It was as far back as 1906, when several gentlemen interested in cars sat down to plan the new car factory. At the start, cars were made based on French designs, but eventually they decided to do everything on their own. As early as 1911, the first self-developed cars went into production in small series. The cars from the new factory were named ALFA The experiences from the previous license production of French cars with weak engines laid the foundation for the new products. Now cars were to be produced that could compete with other fast cars. As early as 1913, a fully enclosed, streamlined purpose-built model came that caused a stir in the automotive world. in 1915 the factory was taken over by Nicolo Romeo and it later changed its name to Alfa Romeo.

Enzo Ferrari drove for Alfa Romeo

The factory began to participate in motorsport, and already in 1920 the first victory was achieved. One of the great drivers who was part of the factory team from the start was Enzo Ferarri. Investing in car races and new sports models for the country road gave the factory a good name among car enthusiasts.

Alfa Romeo 164

Alfa Romeo also produced fast family cars in many sizes and variants. Introduced in 164, the 1987 model was a luxury 4-door family car. It came as a result of a collaboration with Fiat, Lancia and Saab. The Alfa 164 was only produced as a pure passenger car with 4 doors. The model came with a number of engine options in addition to the vigorous 2 liter engine that was in the most affordable variant. The engine was equipped with 2 spark plugs on each cylinder, and had the designation "Twin Spark" and had enough horsepower for proper sporty driving. For those who wanted more horses, the 164 could be delivered with a V6 engine. There were very few changes to the 164 during its production period which lasted until 1998. The few changes that were introduced were a few more horses and more equipment.

Here is both a beautiful car, performance and a long and proud history in one package.

Since we mentioned history, we have to go back to the beginning of Alfa Romeo. It was as far back as 1906 when several gentlemen interested in cars sat down to plan the new car factory. At the start, cars were made based on French constructions, but eventually they decided to do everything on their own. As early as 1911, the first self-developed cars went into production in small series. Bet on motorsport

The factory began to participate in motor racing and already in 1920 the first victory was achieved. One of the great drivers who was part of the factory team from the beginning was Enzo Ferrari . The focus on car racing and new sports models for the road gave the factory a good name among car enthusiasts.

Need for mass production

After the war ended in 1945, car production started on a limited scale. In terms of the number of cars produced, Alfa Romeo was a very small factory and the management realized that things had to change if the factory was to survive.

Alfa Romeo 1900

The first fast model to be mass-produced was the "1900". For being a 4-door family car, it had characteristics that laid the foundation for a wide range of sporty models from the factory. Top speed of 150 km/h was very good at the time. The model later came in new and even stronger versions. After the launch in 1950, there were both larger engines and models with special bodies from independent designers. The model, which was the first in a series of sporty family cars, was in production until 1960.

Alfa Romeo 166 Busso – emotions and reason

Alfa Romeo 166
Alfa Romeo was the last successor to the Alfa Romeo 6

memory lane1

"Disappointingly anonymous", I thought when I saw the Alfa Romeo 166 for the first time. I had expected more "poundus" - in line with the Audi A6 and BMW 5 series. But that was before I heard the engine.

It's the V6 you must have

When the Alfa Romeo 166 appeared as a 1999 model, you could choose Alfa's 2-liter Twin-spark (inline four) and 2,5 V6. Later, from the 2001 model, you could also choose the 3,0 V6. The most affordable six cost 562,000 kroner while the 2,0 TS cost 419,000. Car testers at the time believed that the 2-liter gave the car better driving characteristics than the much heavier V6 engine. Reason spoke in favor of the 2-liter engine, but emotions said V6.

The legacy of Giuseppe Busso

Giuseppe Busso
The young constructor was only 26 years old when he came to Alfa Romeo to develop racing engines. After the war, he visited Ferrari for a while before returning to Alfa Romeo. Busso developed the engines that laid the foundation for many of the Alfas we know today. One of his masterpieces was the V6 engine that was developed in the 70s. It gave rise to Alfa's large car series - the Alfa 6 - which was launched for the 1979 model year. Over the years, the Alfa 6 was replaced by the 164 - which in turn was followed by the 166. The Alfa Romeo 166 was the last model in the series.

Future classic

I have collected some photos that I recently took of the Alfa Romeo 166. The model is over 20 years old. It is now that prices are at their lowest point. Today there are 312 examples in the vehicle register, but almost half have already been turned into nails. In terms of sales, 1999 was the peak year with 137 cars sold. Later only an insignificant number were sold. The Alfa 166 is about to disappear from the road. Not only here. I read that there are no more than about 400 cars left on British roads.

True Alpha genes

It is not only the low number of remaining cars that ensures the Alfa Romeo 166 a classic stamp. In the future, the legacy of Giuseppe Busso will play an important role, and it is then primarily the Busso engines 2,5 and 3,0 V6 that count - and the 3,2 liter that came as an option in 2003. I think probably that the 2-litre inline-four with Twin kick will also be included in future collector cars. As for the Fiat group's popular 5-cylinder diesel option, I have my doubts.

alpha 936
Alfa Romeo series 2, Tipo 938, from 2003-2007 with "smile front". (Source: FavCars.com)

First or second series?

In 2003, the Alfa Romeo 166 received a facelift. Then it got a new engine option – 3,2 liter V6 with 240 HP – still based on Busso's design. Visually, the 166 got a completely new front. In the opinion of many, this is how the model should have been from the very beginning. Walter de Silva's original low and toned-down front marks the wedge shape, but could seem overly anonymous. Today, I prefer the look of the Series 1 cars. I like how the upper outer edges of the headlights curve down towards the wheels. Tough without being aggressive. Moreover, it is less period-typical than the new "smiley front". But of course this is all about taste.

What to watch out for

Everyone has probably heard some story about a poor Alfa owner, for example the one who had to take the engine out to change the fan for the heater, or something like that? There is every reason to be skeptical if you are considering buying a 20-year-old Alfa Romeo with a V6 engine and electronically controlled automatic transmission. Repairs will easily exceed the car's value. The essentials are the following:

  • The timing belt should be changed at 60 km - all models regardless of what the service booklet says.
  • The V6 engines must use oil. It is suggested that 1 liter per 1500 km is within tolerance.
  • Watch out for leakage from the air conditioner. This can cause water to enter the passenger compartment and moisture to enter the control box for the automatic cash register (!) or other electronics.
  • For the 2,0 Twin kick, a number of problems with the air flow meter have been reported.

Prices

The label "Under 30" fits well on a 000-year-old Alfa Romeo 20. In Norway, the selection is very limited. In Europe, there are cars for sale with a V166 and a mileage of around 6 km for between NOK 100 - 000. There is a lot to be gained from paying a little extra for a maintained "low-mileage" car rather than one that has been completely run down. Cars that are 50 years old or older can be brought in without paying a one-off tax, although there is little to be gained from importing from abroad. The advantage is that the selection is better - not unexpected from Italy.

Over in history

All the V6 engines for the Alfa 166 were produced at the production plant in Arese – where a number of Busso's Alfa models were produced. But it had been in the cards for a long time. From 2000, cars were no longer produced there, only the aforementioned V6 engines. The parent company Fiat had decided to close the factory for good and lay off 500 employees. The last shipment of Busso engines left the factory on December 31, 2005. 3 days later Giuseppe Busso fell asleep - aged 92.

The Alfa Romeo factory in Arese has today been converted into car museum. Click on the image to go to their website.

When I have taken pictures from car shows and exhibitions, I want to show several cars of the same model before they are published. Then it becomes more legitimate to write a story about the model , not the car . But what do you do when you have only managed to take one picture? Here are 5 cars from carspotting that I have not found the same.

Ferrari Testarossa

Ferrari Testarossa

The Ferrari, which was produced between 1984 and 1996, became super popular. "All" royalty and celebrities wanted a Testarossa.

Miami Vice

There was a wait of several years. Many got to know the car through the TV series Miami Vice. Ferrari had donated two cars to the production company. They were in black metallic with a cream colored interior, but were repainted because white probably suited Don Johnson better. The last two sales went for 175 and 000 dollars respectively.

Here is one that was for sale but has now unfortunately been sold.

Celebrity car

Several celebrities have owned - or own a Testarossa. Elton John is said to have received one from the record company MCA Records. It was red with a "tan" interior. It is said that Elton John regularly drives all his cars. Also the Testarossa which was eventually auctioned off - and which has probably been auctioned off at least once more later. Other celebrities behind the wheel of the Testarossa are Mick Jagger, Miles Davis, Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Rod Stewart, OJ Simpson, Tom Selleck, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice.

Facts about the Ferrari Testarossa

Engine: 4,9 litres, 12 cylinders (boxer), 48 valves, naturally aspirated, dry sump, 390 HP at 6300 revs, 490 Nm at 4500 revs. 0-100 in 5,8 seconds.

Lotus spirit

carspotting
Lotus Spirit Turbo

It is hard to imagine that the Lotus Esprit, the cool James Bond car, has become a proper old car.

The truth is inescapable. Beneath the hand-crafted fiberglass bodywork lies an old car, technologically low-tech by today's standards. I heard one owner say, "You don't buy an Esprit for performance - you buy it because it's an Esprit . "

Engines

The Esprit model was produced in several series from 1976 to 2004. The first cars were equipped with mid-mounted 2,2-liter inline-four engines developed by Lotus itself. Performance was a modest 160 HP. The Esprit was never a supercar until 1980 when it got a turbo and 210 HP. Eventually, Lotus managed to extract 300 HP from the turbo engine. In 1996 – twenty years after its introduction – the Esprit got V8 engines. The twin-turbo engine produced 350 horses and lifted the Esprit into the supercar class.

Heavy on the steering. Poor turning radius. Low stance and very direct contact with the road. "Everything" is communicated to the driver. This is a car that takes some getting used to.

The statements come from car testers who viewed the Esprit with today's eyes. One thing everyone agrees on. The interior. Everything is covered in genuine leather - handmade English quality - designed like a "man-cave". It is not only comfortable, but gives a real good feeling.

BMW 503

BMW 503 Coupé Series II – 134 produced

Only 413 of this BMW model were produced. There should be one other BMW of the same model somewhere in Norway, but the probability of meeting any of them on the road is very small.

A beautiful baroque angel

BMW's distinctive 50s models 501 and 502 were colloquially called baroque angels. First appearing as a 503 model, the 1956 Coupé model was a 2-door, 2+2-seater GT model that was offered with only one engine option. The engine was taken from the BMW 502. 3,2 liter V8, 2 carburettors, 140 HP and 4-speed manual gearbox. There is no doubt that under the beautiful costume was a baroque angel - a very beautiful baroque angel.

Little profitable

Production continued from 1956 to March 1959. Considering the gorgeous design and motorization, the model could certainly have been produced well into the 60s. But BMW stopped production due to poor profitability. A total of 413 cars were produced. Of these, 270 were Coupés with a fixed roof and 143 cabriolets with electric raising and lowering of the canopy.

Expensive car

A simple search on mobile.de for the BMW 503 reveals prices between 200 – 250,000 euros for coupes and 400 – 500,000 euros for convertibles. There are several factors that indicate a high price – few examples, built as a quality car, beautiful and expensive for its time. It is surprising that these cars did not do better. The BMWs could not keep up with the American cars of the time in terms of chrome and external dimensions, – but neither could the Mercedes-Benz SL. Despite this, the SL sold well in the USA in the 50s.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider

carspotting
Alfa Romeo Giulietta

It was typically Italian to make a model with many bodies. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was initially a compact family car, but could also be delivered with special bodies.

The Giulietta Spider follows a genuinely minimalist roadster concept. Under the hood is a 1,3-liter aluminum engine with wet cylinder walls, DOHC and single Solex carburettor (Normale) or twin Weber (Veloce). It produced 80 HP in the Normale and 90 HP in the Veloce version – enough to give a lot of driving pleasure in a car that weighs only 860 kg.

Lived on as the Giulia Spider

The Giulietta series (2- and 4-door) was produced from 1954 to 1965, but the Giulietta Spider was called the Giulia Spider when Alfa Romeo began producing the legendary Giulia in 1962. The “new” Giulia Spider received a 1,6-liter engine and an additional air intake on the hood. Otherwise, there were few visual changes between the two models.

Prices

The Giulietta Spider is a true classic, and the prices reflect that. They range from 500,000 kroner to a million on mobile.de.

About the pictures

The white Spider is one of the last cars produced as a Giulietta. It is a "tipo 101.03" - as the registration number indicates. The photo was taken at one of the Norsk Sportsvogn Klubb's spring rallies in Fornebu. Car spotting.

Opel Kapitän

Opel Kapitän P2

1959 was a good year. Lolita topped the charts with "Seemann". Mercedes-Benz launched a brand new model and Opel got a new Kaptein.

It has been a long time since an Opel could measure up to a Mercedes. It could do that in 1959 when both came with completely new models. Mercedes' new W110 and W111 – the so-called "find Mercedes" was perhaps the best mass-produced car of its time. The year before, Opel had launched a brand new Opel Kaptein with large fins and panoramic windows at the front and rear. The P1 looked like an American, but was too strong a diet for sane Europeans. Many complained about poor visibility through the panoramic windows and tight access to the back seat because the rear window actually curved into the door opening. It sold so poorly that the management at Opel began to design a new Kaptein – the P2 – which came already the following year in 1959.

Most beautiful Opel ever

It was no secret that the P2 was designed on the same platform as the P1. The two cars had the same wheelbase, while the new one was a little wider, a little longer – and a little less American. The new Opel Kaptein was not only beautiful – it also sold better than all the Kapteins both before and after.

Italian cars at Rud

motorway
Alfa Romeo GTV 2,0 TB V6 Quadrifoglio. According to factory figures, the turbo engine produces 200 HP, 0-100 in 7,4 and a top speed of 235 km/h. This car is now for sale on Finn.no with nice photos from the trip - See the advertisement

Several car events this spring have unfortunately been cancelled. Fortunately, it is possible to maintain social distance on organized drives.

Fiat and Biltema in the same building

Autovia invited the public to a Sunday visit to its new premises above Biltema in Rud, followed by a tour around Hurum. The predicted snow did not materialize. The day "fortunately" began with just rain. Autovia represents Italian car brands - all from the Fiat group. Models such as Alfa Romeo Guilia and Stelvio at Tesla prices, Fiat 500 and Jeep Renegade.

Nice cars for Sunday trips

I stopped by for a visit before leaving – not to study new cars, but youngtimers and classics. Ideal hobby cars that are well suited for Sunday outings. Among the newer Guilias, Stelvios, Alfa 159s and Breras I saw a fantastically nice Lancia Kappa Coupé, as well as a Fiat Barchetta, Fiat Coupé, GTV and the red Lancia Flavia Sport of which there is only one in Norway. Only 626 cars of this model were made, and only 512 with the 1,8-liter engine.

For those of us who like Italian cars

It's called "networking". Events like this attract interest - not only from existing customers - but also from the established Italian car community in Norway. There's something very special about Italian cars. Even the smallest Fiat is made to please the eye and ear. Terje's cars can confirm that the Fiat 500 is the world's coolest small car and the new electric model with a WLTP range of 32 kilometers is very interesting. We would also like to highlight the Jeep Renegade that we drove for a few weeks. Not the smoothest driving compact SUV, but a vehicle that gives a lot of feel-good on the road. After all, it was developed and produced in Italy.
