I visited the Norwegian Sports Car Club's spring mustering last Sunday at Øvrevoll gallop. Here you can find Norway's most beautiful sports cars with the opportunity to study extremely rare and exclusive cars up close. Here are some of them.

In total only around 900 Jowett Jupiters were produced. It achieved several victories in motor racing at the time. Jowett was a very well-known car brand in England with a production site in West Yorkshire, England. The most popular model after the war was Jowett Javelin – a 4-door premium sedan.

The Porsche 356 Speedster has had a renaissance as a replica car. Most Speedsters you see on the road are replicas. The car in the picture, however, is an original Speedster. The prices of these cars have really skyrocketed in recent years.

TVR is an English sports car manufacturer that builds cars in small series. They are built from fiberglass material on tubular steel frames. The car in the picture is one of the first built in the early 1960s, a Grantura probably series II or IIa. In total, about 400 cars were built in this series.

I must admit that I have never seen or heard of this model. At first I thought it was a Indy, but it is a Khamsin – a model that was produced during very turbulent times for Maserati. Despite sales being poor after the oil crisis and despite the owners, Citroen, struggling financially – Maserati built very beautiful cars.

The Mitsubishi 3000 GT is not something you see every day. According to AI, there are about 90 cars in Norway. This is a type of car that I believe was made for the American market.

I have no problem naming this the most beautiful car of today. It is a hand-built, German grand tourer with a V8 engine taken from the BMW 550i and a 6-speed manual transmission. Ready to drive, it weighs under 1300 kg. This one is for sale for just under 2 million kroner Advertisement.

This is a model that appears when exclusive sports cars are shown. According to the vehicle register, there are 6 cars of this model in Norway, first registered between 2005 and 2007.

Trans am — 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.

You could say this was every boy's dream in the 1970s. A beautiful 2-door hardtop coupe and the top model in the Firebird series. Later years of the Trans Am played an important role along with Burt Reynolds, Sally Fields og Jerry reed i Smokey and the bandit the movies.

2025 GT40 – previously exhibited at the Oslo Motor Show along with other GT40 cars. The car is built by Kristian Lord Flaem. I'm not sure what kind of drivetrain is hiding under the tough shell, but I wonder if the car could be built with an Audi 4.2 V8 transaxle solution? If so, there should be several projects that have used the same solution.

If you like rare, old or exclusive cars, there are few car collections that are more fitting than the Norwegian Sports Car Club's spring musterings. Last Sunday, Øvrevoll Galloping Track was filled with fine cars that you rarely see in real life.

According to the vehicle registry, this is the only original Lancia Stratos which is drivable in this country. The model was built for racing and only 492 cars were produced. According to the chassis number, it is probably a 1975 model, first registered in Norway in 1978 and has had the same owner since 1987. We have seen this car several times on the road.

There are probably only 2 replicas of Shelby Cobra Daytona in Norway – both probably based on kits from Factory Five – a manufacturer of Shelby Cobra replica kits. The only 6 original Daytona cars were built between 1964 and 1965 for racing. Later cars are either "continuation models" built by Shelby himself, or replicas. According to the vehicle registry, the car in the picture was first registered in 2023. The engine is a 5.7 liter V8, probably from the Chevrolet Corvette.

Bentley S1 was Bentley's version of Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 1. The 2-door Continental variant was considered a sporty variant. Several variants were made with different bodies, including a "drophead coupe" and special bodies from the coachbuilder H.J. Mulliner.

DeTomaso Pantera was equipped with Ford 351 Cleveland V8 engine, rear mid-mounted. Ford bought into the company and sold the cars in the US through Lincoln – Mercury dealers. The partnership with Ford lasted from 1971 to 1975. It was probably the oil crisis that made Ford withdraw. After the breakup, De Tomaso was allowed to continue selling its cars in markets outside the US, but production never reached the same level as when Ford was involved.

This variant of Ford Sierra is rare. The XR4i was equipped with a 2.8i V6 engine and received two layers of rear spoilers and special rear side windows. It was introduced in 1982 and disappeared from the model program in 1985.

The Scimitar was Reliant's sports car model that stood out from the brand's simpler models. Scimitar SS1 were pure sports cars with 2 seats. The car pictured is a 1987 model with a Nissan 1.8 liter turbo engine.

donkervoort — 1985 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 V8

Ford Mustang The mk3 was produced with either the Ford Pinto's 2,3-liter inline-four or the 5,0 V8. The model is referred to as the "Fox Body Mustang" and has long been somewhat overshadowed by other Mustang models. Recently, its popularity has increased significantly in the United States, which also affects prices.

Visually, the Porsche 964 is the last model to feature the early 911 look, although when it was introduced in 1989, it was said that no previous 911 model had undergone as many changes as the 964. The most noticeable change compared to its predecessor are the bumpers that were incorporated into the bodywork. However, it can still be seen that the 964 carries many features from the original 911 series.

aston martin — 1979 Aston Martin V8 Vantage

It looks like a Lotus 7 – but is built by Dutch DonkervoortThey started by selling kits of the Lotus 7, but began to produce their own, improved models based on the Lotus 7. The car in the picture is a Donkervoort S8A – Super 8 “Amber” – named after founder Joop Donkervoort's daughter. I have previously written about Donkervoort, and then found out that there was only one Donkervoort registered in Norway – namely the car in this picture.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Hardtop Convertible

The Chevrolet Corvette C8 changed the concept quite a bit by placing the engine in the middle. You can clearly see the air intakes on the sides. The model is also available in an electric version.
