Bertone's style study
In terms of style, the Citroen BX was in every way perfect for the 80s. Although several competitors moved to rounded body shapes, the BX stood out as a modern and beautiful car, thanks to the design firm Bertone. The great design was previously intended Volvo tundra – a concept car that was never put into production. Bertone used the design concept instead for Citroen's new project. It would be a shame if the concept had gone to waste.

Model history
The Citroen BX replaced the GSA from model year 1983 and inherited engines from the PSA family, 1,4, 1,6, 1,9 and 1,7 diesel and later the 1,7 Turbodiesel. The Citroen BX 17 TD station wagon became a popular family car across Europe. From model year 1987, it came in an upgraded version - "phase 2". The biggest changes were made to the instrument panel where the last remnants of the GS/GSA were removed, such as the switch cluster on both sides of the steering wheel, the clocks and richer padding on the steering wheel.
