Automobiles Citroën was founded in 1919 by André Citroën. The company went bankrupt twice – in 1934 prior to the launch of its Traction Avant – and in 1974 just before the CX was to be produced. Citroen was then taken over by Peugeot and after each PSA was founded. In 2021, PSA entered Stellantis.

Citroen C4
Is the new C4 a comeback for the good old Citroen characteristics? We have driven a new Citroen C4 with a petrol engine so that we can compare with previous models.
Citroen C3 Aircross series 2
The front has become tougher, more masculine, more aggressive and more mainstream. The C3 Aircross still appears as a practical and unpretentious car – a high-built small car with family car characteristics.
Citroen C3 Aircross
Few families in Oslo have private parking. With a length of only 4,15 metres, the Citroen C3 Aircross is a good weapon in the battle for free parking spaces on the street. But is the C3 Aircross big enough for a family?
Citroen C4 Cactus with fewer…
When Citroen upgraded the C4 Cactus, they chose to remove the distinctive exterior upholstery - which was the car's signature. Has today's model lost its spikes?
Citroën C4 1,6 HDi 90 HP
On the road, the C4 feels bigger than it is. It is quiet and comfortable like a class above. It feels suitably motorized with a 90-horsepower HDI and 5 gears.
Citroën C1 Nordic
Impressively good space in a 3,5 meter car. The front seats with built-in headrests suited me perfectly. The engine runs well and can be driven fine through town at low revs. I conclude that I would happily take the C1 on a long trip.
Citroen ë-Jumpy 75Kwh
"The electric truck for those who work mostly in cities and suburban areas", says the importer. We wonder if the Stellantis group's large battery pack is not also suitable outside urban areas?
Mehari and e-Mehari
In good condition, they cost approximately €15. They are unlikely to be cheaper. The Citroën Méhari has become a major cult car in Europe.
To electric car in 20 hours
The 2CV Méhari Club in Cassis has been approved for a kit to convert 2CVs to electric operation. The process takes 20 hours.
Citroën DS
Had the Citroen DS not been made, many of the cars would probably look different today. Porsche 911, for example.
Citroen Ami 6
Not like all other cars, but from tests in 1962 the driving comfort was described as "outstanding".
Citroen CX
Citroën CX is the successor to legends such as Traction Avant and DS. But did it really become a legend on par with its predecessors?
Citroën C6 as a taxi
Strange that you don't see the C6 as a taxi. After all, the car was designed to transport statesmen around with style and dignity.
Citroen GS
A very advanced family car. It had streamlined bodywork, hydraulic suspension and an air-cooled boxer engine produced from lightweight metal with overhead camshafts.
Citroen Traction Avant
Way ahead of its time. French cars were known for elegance and forward-looking technology right from the car's infancy. One of the models that contributed to this was the Traction Avant.
Citroën models in text and images
Citroen 2CV
Decorates wherever it stands. It does not matter if it is patinated. I think it's brilliant to see 2 CVs that are actually used, and not just for decoration.
Citroen Ami
Lots of space in the Ami Break thanks to the space-saving suspension. This must have been a fantastic family car!
Dyane/Acadian
Has the same drivetrain and structure as the 2CV, but got a body that was supposed to be more modern. But it never reached the 2CV.
Citroen Mehari
Shares mechanics with Dyane. It has the same 602 ccm engine and 4-speed gearbox with umbrella gear. The body is made of soft plastic.
Citroën Visa
The Visa was the model that brought the 2CV line over to a completely new generation of car models. From air cooling to water.
Xantia
First mass-produced car to offer "active suspension" - which utilizes the Hydramatic system with computer-controlled hydraulic stabilizers.
Citroen bx
In terms of style, the Citroen BX was in every way perfect for the 80s. Although several competitors moved to rounded body shapes, the BX gained its own style.
Citroën GS/GSA
The new mid-range car was a true Citroën with air-cooled boxer engines, hydropneumatic suspension and futuristic shape.
Citroen C6
PSA needed a car for the president and statesmen. The C6 was not a commercial success – today only a car for enthusiasts only.
Citroen XM
Not often one to see on the road anymore. I travel a lot along streets and roads in the South of France. There I only find XMs in some abandoned state.
Citroen CX
The production of the CX was far from smooth at the start. This gave the model a bad reputation. Undeserved, - because eventually everything went much better.
Citroën DS/ID
DS is pronounced in French as déesse, which means "goddess", - and ID becomes "idea". Typical French.
Citroën 11CV Traction avant
Self-supporting bodywork, one wheel in each corner, independent suspension on all four wheels, low center of gravity, front wheel drive and rack and pinion steering were not commonplace when the model appeared in 1934.
Citroen SM
It is rare that you come across an SM, - wherever you are in the world. It is a very special car. The engine from Italian Maserati, the technology and the fantastic design.
Citroen Type H
A van that was in many ways inspired by the 2CV. Solid, simple and intuitive. On Type H, there are a number of ingenious solutions.
