Ferrari has been very successful in Formula 1 over the years and is known for making top-class supercars. The company was founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari. In the first years, production was very low. Only in the 70s did Ferrari begin to sell over 1000 cars a year. In 1969, Fiat bought into the company. Ferrari has retained its status as an independent car brand even after the major merger of FCA and PSA into Stellantis.
