Escort mk2 2 and 4 doors

Square shapes
The Escort mk2 was technically almost exactly the same Escort mk1, but got a more period look for mid-70s cars. When the new model appeared for the 1975 model year, it seemed period correct. Ford introduced square shapes to the Cortina/Taunus (1976) and Granada (1978). In retrospect, perhaps the successor has come a little in the shadow of its older brother, the original mk1 Escort?
Facelifted in 1979
The Mk2 was produced until 1981, when it was replaced by the completely redesigned mk3. The model received a facelift for the 1979 model year in the form of a new front with square lights - the only thing on its predecessor that not was square.
