Fine lines
You can really use the term "sleek" about the Ford P5. Harmonious design with perfect "shutlines". Still, it's not a boring design, with triangular headlights, bumper corners that curve around the corners, a large windshield and loads of chrome. P5 (Project 5) comprised the Ford Taunus 17M and 20M between 1964-1966. The P5 series consisted of 2- and 4-door sedans, 3- and 5-door station wagons (Turnier), and 2-door Hardtop Coupé. In addition, the body shop Carl Deutch could deliver 2-door capriolets. Vans with covered rear side windows are also said to have been made.
Possible engine choices were respectively 1500 V4 and 1700 V4, and 2000 V6 for the 20M. All had manual 4-speed gearboxes with a gear lever on the steering wheel, while the 20M TS was delivered with a floor-mounted gear lever. Automatic transmission was available as a 3-speed Taunomatic. A full bench in front was standard, but you could order separate chairs. In the 20M TS, separate seats were standard. Among taxis, it was popular to order furnishings in Skai. The taxi driver in my childhood neighborhood owned a bright red 20M. Finest car on the street!

About the pictures
The blue metallic, 2-door 20M TS and the red 2-door 17M with white roof were taken in connection with a Ford M-meeting in Åsgårdstrand in the spring of 2019. The 20M is depicted in several photos in the photo series. The beautiful 20M Hardtop Coupé participated in Cars & Coffee at Skui gård in 2023. The interior photo is from this car. The blue 5-door station wagon was photographed in the parking lot at Hof Skole during "Vehicle Day" in 2019. The gray car was photographed in a parking lot at Sognsvann, Oslo in 2025.
