Frankia I 550

Early integrated model

German Frankia was acquired by Pilote sometime in the 90s, but produces caravans and motorhomes under its own brand name. The pictured model is an early integrated model (1990-91) with a fold-down alcove bed above the driver's seat. Length and width are 5.80 and 2.24 respectively, and a total weight of 3.100 kg. The chassis and drivetrain of the pictured caravan are based on the Fiat Ducato mk1 with a 2500 diesel of 75 HP and front-wheel drive. I think it was possible to choose the 2500TD (turbodiesel). In that case, you would have 95 HP available. The Fiat Ducato 2500 also shares the chassis and engine with the Citroën C25 and Peugeot J5. I have seen the Frankia 550 based on the Peugeot.

Veteran

At over 30 years old, this car can be considered a veteran in every sense, even though it looks modern for its time. A couple of years ago, a 1990 Frankia I 550 was put up for sale for 90.000 kroner on Finn.no. If I remember correctly, it disappeared pretty quickly. Maybe it's this one?
