Iso Grifo

Iso grifo
1968 ISO Grifo GL 365

Few copies left

The Iso Grifo is a car you hardly see on the road. It was only built in 413 examples, and it is said that they were built without any kind of rust protection, so several examples must have already been turned into crackers.

One brand – one model

Iso only made one model of the Grifo, but in several versions. In the beginning the cars were based on Chevy drivetrains (5,4 V8), later 7,0 V8. The beautiful bodywork was designed by Giugiaro while he was at Bertone - a design I would without a doubt place among the 5 most beautiful. It amazes me how classic and timeless this car is.

Play and reality

I wonder if there were more people than me who became aware of this great car brand for the first time through the world of toy cars - as a boy. Both Corgi Toys and Matchbox had the Iso Grifo in their model program in the 60s, - and the ads for these were read with wide eyes by the undersigned. I see that it is still possible to buy them on Ebay.

About the pictures

Terje's cars have succeeded in taking pictures of two of this rare model. The main picture is taken London Concours 2019. The other photos were taken at the Oslo Motor Show 2018. There is a car with Norwegian plates. A picture also from Ebay where Iso Grifo are sold as toy cars in cast iron.
