The car brand Jaguar started by producing sidecars, then, around 1935, cars together with Standard. From 1945, the company was renamed from SS Cars to Jaguar. In 1966 Jaguar was merged with BMC which from 1968 became British Leyland. From 1984, Jaguar became its own, listed company. In 1990, Jaguar and Land Rover were acquired by Ford, then sold to Indian Tata. Jaguar is now produced by the company Jaguar Land Rover.
