The little Lamborghini
The Lamborghini Gallardo was produced between 2003 and 2013. It was referred to as "The Little Lamborghini". Primarily because of the engine, a V10 instead of a V12 – but also because of the length, just over 4.3 metres. The Gallardo was also the first model to share a drivetrain with the Audi R8 (first generation). The Volkswagen Group's takeover of Lamborghini has only had benefits. The Gallardo was a sales hit.
Two series
The Series 1 was produced until 2008. It came in either Coupé (with roof) or Spyder (without roof) – both with a 5-litre V10. The Series 2 came with a new engine, the 5.2-liter V10. It came in three variants, – LP550-2, LP560-4 and Superleggera LP570-4. Cosmetic changes were also made in connection with the facelift. They are not so easy to see at first glance. Most visible are the changes to the rear lights.
About the pictures
The yellow car on the stand is a Series 1 car. The other yellow car and the black one were both produced after the facelift in 2008. The yellow car in the main picture is a 2013 LP560-4 – the last year for the Gallardo. Then the model received small changes to the front and rear. The car is pictured at a Cars & Coffee meet at Øvrevoll galopp. It had come all the way from Trondheim. The yellow Series 1 car is a 2008 model photographed at Billingstad in 2023. It is for sale at Pro Auto Salg for 1.69 million kroner with a mileage of 63000 km. See ad on Finn.no . The red car is an early edition pictured at Cars & Coffee, Skui gård, 2023.
