In the 50s this was one of the most beautiful cars in the world. Especially the coupé version. A company specializes in building hot rod variants of the Lancia Aurelia. They call their cars "Outlaw". Each car is made to order and designed in consultation with the customer. A typical styling involves cutting the roof as shown in the pictures. The drivetrain is based on the Flaminia. It probably takes two classic cars to create one. The result is certainly breathtaking.

The roofed Lancia is tough - and named the winner.

The pictured car is "Outlaw" project number 4. The picture was taken London Concours in 2019.

When Aurelia Coupé appeared in Tintin.
Are you wondering what the "standard" Aurelia Coupé looks like? It is - and never has been - a common sight. My first encounter with the Aurelia Coupé was from one of the Tintin series. As a boy I was engrossed in Tintin's adventures. One of the cars was particularly fascinating, namely the Lancia Aurelia Coupé. It would be a long time before I got to see it in reality. Today there is a car like that in my local area on the west side of Oslo. It is the car you see in the pictures below.

About the pictures

The photos of the dark blue car were taken at Lysaker Torg. The white car was on display at the 2023 Brooklands Summer Classic Gathering.
