"Four doors" sounds much nicer in Italian than in other languages. Quattroporte!
Four doors
When Maserati introduced the new Ghibli III in 2013, they got two 4-door models – Ghibli og Quattroporte. The Ghibli is a class smaller than the Quattroporte. It is described as a mid-size car, although it is almost 5 meters long. It is easy to confuse the Ghibli III with the Quattroporte 6 if you cannot see both cars at the same time. The differences are clear at the front, where the Ghibli's grille is more straight-cut and aggressive. The part under the grille is also more pronounced on the Ghibli. Also note that there is a gap/transition between the headlights and the grille that reinforces the slant of the headlights. From the side you can see that the Quattroporte 6 has a small triangular window at the C-pillar, which the Ghibli does not have.
Engines
The powertrain is supplied by Ferrari, – 3,0 twin-turbo V6 with 330 hp, later increased to 350 hp. In Ghibli S 410 hp was removed from the engine, later increased to 430 hp. There was also a diesel variant in the engine range – a 3-litre turbodiesel V6 – which later became popular in Maserati LevanteFrom model year 2021, the Ghibli could also be had with an MHEV – a 2-liter mild hybrid with a 2-liter gasoline engine with 330 hp and a 14 hp electric motor.
The gearbox is supplied by ZF – an 8-speed automatic gearbox of the same type used by BMW, Land Rover and Porsche Panamera, among others. The Ghibli S could be had with Maserati's Q4 4-wheel drive. Other Ghibli have rear-wheel drive.
Distribution in Norway
According to OFV "Car Prices November 2021", the Ghibli 3.0 V6 cost from 1.4 to 1.55 million kroner. The Ghibli S with Q4 cost 1.8 million, while the diesel variant was slightly cheaper at 1.2 to 1.3 million. According to regnr.info, 52 Ghibli 3s were registered in this country between 2013 and 2023. Of these, 2 were hybrid cars, 14 diesel cars and 23 cars with Q4 - that is, the Ghibli S with Q4,
