The engines in the Quattroporte 5 belong to Ferrari/Maserati's F136 series. These are V8 engines that have a lot in common with the Ferrari 430 and 458.
A new generation of Maserati
The Maserati Quattroporte 5 received a completely new platform, new V8 engines developed in collaboration with Ferrari and a completely new design language. Production began in the fall of 2003 and lasted until 2012, with a facelift from the 2009 model year. Visible changes were a grille with vertical ribs, new headlights, new bumpers, side skirts and mirror housings.
Engines
The engines in Quattroporte 5 belongs to Ferrari/Maserati's F136 series. The Ferrari 430 and 458 received engines from the same series, although they are not identical to the engines in the Maserati. From the beginning, the cars were equipped with a 4.2 liter V8 with dry sump, 400 hp and DuoSelect robotized manual gearbox with F1 gearing mounted in the transaxle on the rear axle. This system is said to have previously also been used by Ferrari, then referred to as F1From 2007, the Maserati Quattroporte received new 6-speed gearboxes from ZF which Maserati called AutomaticaThey were mounted conventionally forward behind the engine. The engines were then converted to use oil-filled sumps.
From the 2009 model year, Quattroporte WILL og GTS larger engines of 4.7 liters that produced 430 hp (S) and 440 hp (GTS).
Distribution in Norway
according to regnr.info There are approximately 35 Quattroporte 5 cars in Norway, of which we counted 7 Quattroporte WILL and 4 GTS
