Model history
The second model of the MX-5 inherited much of the charm of the first, while appearing more modern. It was produced from and including model year 1999 to and including 2005. From model year 2001, the model received a small facelift with changes to the interior, headlights and changes to the profiles at the bottom of the door and the rear fender. Judging from the cars for sale, it looks like almost all of them are equipped with 1,6 liter 110 HP engines. That's good for a car that weighs 1065 kg without a driver.
Classic sports car concept
It is said that the MX-5 has continued the same sports car concept that the MGB stood for. Modern technology combined with a relatively timeless design with hints of retro. The MX-5 generation 2 (NB) competed with cars such as the BMW Z3 and Mercedes-Benz SLK.
About the picture
The Mazda in the picture is a facelifted model cabriolet with a hardtop. The picture was taken at Fornebu. This is a car that is used regularly. Unfortunately, my impression is that many MX-5s sit deep in garages and are only taken out on very special occasions until the owners die of old age. There are no excuses for not using these fine cars more often.
