The R230 was produced from 2002 to 2012 and received two facelifts along the way, - one in 2006 and one in 2008. The last one also included engine changes, and such large bodywork changes that it appears as its own model.
About the pictures
All the pictures show cars with the latest facelift. The main picture was photographed in Fornebu at the Norwegian Sports Car Club's spring meeting in 2018. It is an AMG V12. The dark gray one is registered as a 500 SL of an earlier model and probably upgraded to a facelifted model and appears to be an SL 500 V8, while the silver gray one is an SL 300. The black car – an SL63 AMG – was photographed at the Mercedes-Benz Car Club Norway's spring meeting in 2026.
