Was admitted to Norway
There aren't that many American car models here at Terje's cars, mostly Americans of which there was some sort of organized import. The Mercury Grand Marquis is such a model. There are actually a very few cars that were brought in and first registered in this country in the late 70s, but can't remember who brought them in - and it may have been the previous Marquis Coupé. The similarities to the big Ford are clearly visible. It's no secret that the Marquis' origins stem from the Ford LTD/Crown Victoria. The Mercury Marquis (II) was produced for the 1979-1991 model years and equipped with Ford's 302 V8 or 351. Mercurys are one notch more exclusive than Fords. Everyone knows that it's all about "badging". You replace the distinguishing marks and - voila, you have a new mark. But the Mercurys look fantastic.
Model history
The model name Grand Marquis appeared in the late 70s. The first generation with this model name was produced between 1979 and 1991. The engine range consisted of Ford's 302 V8 and from 1987 the Ford 351 V8 – both with 4-speed automatic.

About the pictures
The photos were taken of the same car on two different occasions. The main picture was taken at an Amcar meeting at Ekeberg Camping, the second at a Lincoln & Continental meeting at RøhneSelmer in Billingstad. According to the vehicle register, the car is a 1987 model equipped with Ford's 302 V8 engine of 5 litres.
