The Opel Vivaro was launched in 2001 along with its sister models, the Renault Trafic, Nissan Primastar and Fiat Talento. The models received a common upgrade in 2014 with a new front, new engines and new interior. The Opel (and Vauxhall) Vivaro is built at the old Bedford factory in Luton, UK. The other models from Renault, Nissan and Fiat are built at the Renault plant in Sandouville, France. The Opel Vivaro with a high roof is also built there.
There is no doubt that the Opel Vivaro was originally designed as a Renault. You already notice that when you get the key. Unmistakable Renault key. The instruments are also typical Renault, - and the great 1.6 liter biturbo diesel engine. It bears Renault's type number. It is probably the best 1.6 liter diesel engine I have driven so far. In "my" van it produced 120 HP, but is available as 125 HP and 140 HP in the 2018 model. You get it with 160 HP in the Opel Astra, Renault Talisman and Renault Espace.
The Opel Vivaro is easy to handle and you can maneuver it with millimeter precision into tight spaces thanks to its box-shaped shape.
