Compact on the outside - spacious on the inside
Although most Peugeot 305s today are considered veterans, they still look quite modern alongside newer cars. The long wheelbase and torsion bar suspension provide good space for their modest exterior dimensions. I remember taking the Peugeot 305 as a taxi in Paris on several occasions. There is no doubt that the 305 succeeds the approximately 4-meter-long 304, but I am not entirely sure which model can be considered the successor to the 305? Is it the 306 or the 405?
Variants and engines
The model was delivered as a 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. In some markets outside Norway it was also available as a 3-door van without rear side windows. The 305 was produced in the model years 1977-1989. For the model year 1983 it received a small facelift, mainly a new grille and new headlights. The model designations indicate the level of equipment and engine choice. Common designations were GL, GR, SR, GT, diesel variants such as GRD and SRD - as well as the top model GTX. It had the highest level of equipment and a 1,9 liter SOHC 8V all-aluminum gasoline engine that produced 105 HP, which made 0-100 go by in 7,5 seconds and a top speed of 177 km/h.

Upcoming classic?
The Peugeot 305 is starting to appear at car rallies - at least in France. One of the factors that can make it a popular collector's car is the fact that it is beautiful. Pininfarina did a good job.
