Svenska Aeroplan AB - SAAB - started in 1937 as a manufacturer of aircraft for the Swedish armed forces. After the war, the company began to explore possibilities for producing cars. The prototype was modeled after an airplane wing - a design that would live on until the 1980s. SAAB became part of SAAB-Scania in 1968. In 1989, GM bought in with 50% in the passenger car division. In 2000, GM bought up the rest, and SAAB was fully incorporated into GM. In 2011, SAAB went bankrupt. More recently, the SAAB 9-3 has appeared as an electric car in China under the NEVS 9-3 brand.

Saab 99

There were also peculiarities, including the ignition lock between the seats - and you couldn't get it out until the car was in reverse - for safety reasons - of course.

Saab sonnet

Saab's sports car received a bold design made of fiberglass. Mechanically, it consists almost exclusively of components taken from Saab's parts warehouse.
