Vintage cars, street cars, supercars, hotrods, trimming, rust treatment, heavy cars, raggar cars, amcars and electric cars to name a few of the selection at this year's Motor Show. There is something for everyone, provided you have a hint of motoring interest.
I've wandered around with my one-handed camera and photographed a bit in the throng of people - because between all the vehicles, you shouldn't forget that the Oslo Motor Show is also a small folk festival. I zigzagged through the halls to catch everything, but when I went back I discovered everything I hadn't caught on the first round. I think it might be smart to go several rounds 🙂
It is difficult to point to "highlights" because it depends on what you are interested in. The Oslo Motor Show is not an exhibition for car importers and dealers, but it was interesting to get a closer look at the Polestar 3, NIO EL6, Tesla's new Model 3 , Ford's upcoming European Ford Explorer and Seres 5, a new car brand establishing itself in Europe. If I have to put my finger on something negative about the exhibition, I would like more space for the Amcar cars. It was very tight in a corner with American cars with Corvette, Camaro, Ford Bronco and more.

There Wiger Coupé
"Hebmüller", I thought when I saw this coupé variant. Hebmüller built stylish early Volkswagen convertibles with a split rear window. This "Wiger Coupé" was built in one copy at Norwegian Hammerworks in 2009 based on a 1952 Volkswagen and – in my opinion – clearly inspired by the great Hebmüller.
Opel Ascona B
“It liked it jeg", I heard someone say on the way to the beautiful Ascona. I think all car-interested adults have a good eye for the Ascona B. The cars were beautiful, smooth-driving and simple. The Ascona in the picture is a 1981 GTE which originally had a CIH (cam-in-head) 2,0 engine with injection which produced 105hp.
Datsun 1600 Fairlady
When the director of the Datsun group saw the musical "My Fair Lady", he was said to have been so excited that he decided that Datsun's sports car series should be called "Fairlady". I think this great roadster gives a wonderful feeling of speed and driving pleasure without breaking the speed limits. And, unlike English car manufacturers, Datsun made technology that lasted for generations.
Audi V8 DTM
From Audi's heyday: In 1990, Hans-Joachim Stuck won the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters with the Audi V8 Quattro. Few expected the big Audi to catch up with the lighter BMWs. Stuck drove number 44 in both 1990 and 1991 in a similar car to the one in the picture. In 1991 he drove to 3rd place. Stuck's car had 420 hp and a manual 6-speed gearbox without F1 gearing.
Unimog U535
From 2019, the Unimog was approved as a tractor and it is the company Normog in Fetsund that converts Unimogs into tractors, but the Unimog U535 (pictured) can also be registered as a truck with a total weight of up to 16,5 tonnes. Hydraulic outlet, roll bar and plow plate are required for the vehicle to be approved as a tractor. With front and rear PTOs, I think this one can really come in handy.
Toyota Supra GR
This is the coolest Supra I've ever seen! The Mk5 Supra is not exactly a puzzle in the first place, but it is equipped with Streethunter Bodykit, height-adjustable air suspension and rims from Work Meister. The engine for these cars is supplied by BMW and is the same as in the new Z4 with 340 hp.
McLaren F1
The McLaren F1 is the world's fastest series-produced car with a naturally aspirated engine and genuine Formula 1 genes with a centrally positioned driver's seat. Without electronic driver assistance systems, cars can behave frighteningly during extreme driving. Both Rowan Atkinson and Elon Musk crashed their cars. Elon Musk's car ended up as an uninsured total wreck, while Rowan Atkinson had his car fixed twice before finally selling it. Still, this is a car I want to drive!
Lamborghini Countach LP400
A legendary car of which 150 were built between 1974 and 1978. This is probably a 1977 model with a V12 engine of 3,9 litres. The Countach laid the foundation for a new type of supercar, although few cars in the future are as raw and uncompromising.
BMW 320 Group 5
When the BMW E21 3 Series arrived in the autumn of 1976, BMW set about rebuilding cars for the then motorsport class Group 5. The engines were 2-litre twin-cam 16V 310hp, with a heavily rebuilt body with widened fenders and a huge ( !) rear spoiler that was adapted in Pininfarina's wind tunnel.
