Model history
The Volkswagen (Type 2) T2 was produced from 1967 to 1979 in Germany, while production in Mexico and Brazil continued much longer. In Brazil, the T2 was produced as late as 2013. The European cars were produced in 2 series with a facelift around 1972. The following differences can be seen: The turn signals were moved from under the headlights up to each side of the grille, which was also new. The front bumper on early cars curved around to the front wheel arches and formed a step. Later bumpers only covered the front. A third change is the rear air vents (the D-pillar on buses). On early models they were crescent-shaped. On later models they were square.
T2 Bus
The Volkswagen Type2 T2 has become a real cult car. It oozes the 70s, and many choose to keep it in 70s style, although there are ready-made furnishings in several genres to buy. I got to see many nice "multivan" solutions at the Volksworld fair outside London.

About the bus pictures
The white car was parked near a VW garage in Notting Hill, London. The blue and white bus parked on the street was photographed at Majorstua in Oslo.
The main image and the image of the street-parked white-over-blue car are pictured at Majorstua in Oslo. The orange car with the gangster cap was taken on the occasion of VolksWorld at Sandown Park in Esher, England. The orange car with the roof rack was photographed at the Ekerbergmessen.
T2 Transport

About the Transporter pictures
The car with the red Porsche logo on the side was photographed at the Norwegian Folk Museum in connection with a car show there. The green car was photographed at Frognerstranda Kro in Oslo. The French-registered car with the Porsche logo on the side was photographed at a car show in Perpignan, 2023. The yellow car with Spanish vintage car plates served under Aircooled Tossa in Tossa de Mar, 2021.
T2 Camper

It was the T2 that made the Westfalia roof popular. Not only does it provide full standing height, but it lets in light and probably has one or the other bed mismatch, as far as I know. Campervans can be furnished individually, but many of the 70s solutions are back in fashion.

About the Camper photos
All the top photos, including the portrait photo with the Westfalia roof up, were taken at the Norwegian Folkemuseum during a Volkswagen exhibition in 2016. The white-on-blue car was photographed in Kensington, London. The car in Herbie decor was photographed at an Aircooled meet in Tossa de Mar, Catalonia. The cars outside IKEA participated in a car meet in Perpignan. The yellow and white car with the pop-up roof was photographed at the beach in Argeles-sur-Mer, France. The French car with the fixed, raised roof was photographed in Céret, France.
T2 Pickup
Comes as single-cabin and double-cabin. Double-cabin had two rows of seats and were typical work cars. Unfortunately, today there seem to be far fewer pickups left than vans and buses. I suspect that since the buses have become so valuable, good pickup projects have ended up as donor cars for bus projects. Only speculations…

About the pickup pictures
The main picture was taken on the occasion of Cars and coffee at Skui Gård outside Oslo. The white single cabin was taken in an industrial garage in Snarøyveien in Fornebu at the former premises Adventure cars. Both the double cab and the car with canopy stand participated in the Aircooled event in the Catalan coastal town of Tossa de Mar in 2021.
